मुंबई. अंजली शिवसेना के कार्यकर्ताओं के हमले के बाद कसाब का केस लड़ने से मना करने और फिर केस लड़ने की हामी भरने वाली सरकारी वकील अंजलि वाघमारे की सुरक्षा कड़ी कर दी गई है। महाराष्ट्र पुलिस ने कसाब का केस लड़ने वाली वकील अंजलि को जेड प्लस सिक्यूरिटी मुहैया कराने का फैसला किया है।
जानकारी के मुताबिक कोर्ट ने सोमवार को अंजली को कसाब का वकील नियुक्त किया था, जिसके बाद शिवसेना के कार्यकर्ताओं ने अंजलि के घर हमला किया और पत्थर फेंके।
इस घटना से घबराकर अंजलि ने कसाब का केस लड़ने इंकार कर दिया था, लेकिन हमलावरों की गिरफ्तारी के बाद वे एक बार फिर कसाब का केस लड़ने के लिए तैयार हो गई हैं।
गौरतलब है कि जिंदगी दांव पर लगाकर आतंकवादी मोहम्मद अजमल कसाब की 26/11 मामले में पैरवी करने का फैसला करने वाली वकील अंजली वाघमारे ने सोमवार देर रात घर पर हुए हमले के बाद केस से हटने का फैसला किया था।
अंजलि के मुंबई के वर्ली इलाके स्थित घर पर कल देर रात कुछ लोगों ने पथराव करने के साथ ही उनके खिलाफ नारे भी लगाए। भीड़ को हटाने के लिए पुलिस को थोड़ी लाठीचार्ज भी करना पड़ा। महाराष्ट्र कानूनी सहायता समिति से जुड़ीं अंजलि को सोमवार को ही कसाब का वकील नियुक्त किया गया था।
ऐसा नहीं है कि जिंदा पकड़े गये कसाब का केस लड़ने के लिए कोई वकील तैयार नहीं था। अंजली वाघमारे की नियुक्ति से पहले तीन वकीलों ने कसाब की पैरवी करने की तैयारी दिखाई थी, परंतु शिव सैनिकों ने इसका कड़ा विरोध करते हुए उन वकीलों के घरों के सामने प्रदर्शन किया था।
इस विरोध के बाद महाराष्ट्र के ज्यादातर वकीलों के संगठन ने कसाब के घिनौने अपराध के मद्देनजर एक मत से उसकी पैरवी न करने का फैसला किया था। पर भारतीय कानून के अनुसार कसाब को उसकी पैरवी के लिए वकील मुहैया कराना जरूरी था, लिहाजा विशेष न्यायाधीश एम।एल. ताहिलयानी ने उसकी मांग पर उसे वही वकील दिया जिसके नाम पर उसने अपनी सहमति दी।

MUMBAI: A day after seeking time to consider appearing in the 26/11 attacks trial, advocate Anjali Waghmare informed a special court on Wednesday that she was willing to represent arrested terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab.
Waghmare had on Tuesday asked the court for a day to think over whether she wanted to represent Kasab. A day before, Shiv Sena activists had protested and pelted stones at her residence in Worli after she was appointed defence counsel by the special court.
She had also given a letter to Sena activists on Monday apologising for taking up the representation of Kasab and said she would withdraw from the case.
Special judge M L Tahiliyani has asked Waghmare if she had any problem with continuing as defence counsel for Kasab, a resident of Faridkot in Pakistan.
"No, I will continue with the case," Waghmare said. The court then appointed advocate K P Pawar, also an advocate from the Maharashtra Legal Services Authority, to assist her in the case.
Judge Tahiliyani said that adequate security had been provided for Waghmare, who along with Pawar, will appear for Kasab for the trial which is scheduled to begin on April.
Following her appearance in court, Waghmare said she was willing to appear in the trial as long as she was provided adequate security.
