कोलकाता - टाटा मोटर्स ने सिंगुर में नैनो के प्लांट पर काम पूरी तरह बंद करते हुए उसका निर्माण दूसरी जगह करने की औपचारिक घोषणा कर दी है। । सूत्रों के अनुसार कंपनी परियोजना उत्तराखंड के पंतनगर जिले में लगा सकती है।
उधर आज सिंगूर में ममजा बनर्जी के धरने को लेकर किसानों का एक और गुट सामने आ गया है जो ममता का विरोध कर रहा है । इनका कहना है कि अगर ममता ने धरनो बंद नहीं किया तो उसके खिलाफ आंदोलन चलाया जाएगा।

टाटा पश्चिम बंगाल छोड़ते हैं तो नैनो बनाने के लिए उत्तराखंड का पंतनगर उनका अगला ठिकाना हो सकता है। कहा जाता है कि उन्होंने उत्तराखंड में दूसरी असेंबली लाइन तैयार रखी है। यहां टाटा 407 का भी एक प्लांट है।
उत्तराखंड में 4-6 सैटेलाइट संयंत्र लगाने की बात हुई थी जहां कम्पलीटली नॉक्ड डाउन यूनिट्स की एसेंब्लिंग की जानी थी।उत्तराखंड सरकार ने टाटा मोटर्स के सामने नैनो निर्माण के लिए अतिरिक्त बिजली मुहैया कराने का प्रस्ताव रखा है। सरकार लीज रेंट में सुविधा देने को भी तैयार है।
..तो 10 फीसदी मंहगी हो सकती है नैनो
उत्तराखंड को मदर प्लांट बनाने में छह माह का समय लग सकता है। इसमें 100-200 करोड़ खर्च आ सकता है। इससे नैनो 10 फीसदी तक महंगी हो सकती है
क्यों चुना था सिंगुर
हलदिया बंदरगाह का नजदीक होना भी इसका एक कारण था। टाटा अफ्रीका और दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया के विकासशील देशों में नैनो को एक्सपोर्ट करते क्योंकि सस्ती होने के कारण वहां इसकी जरूर मांग होती। इसके लिए यह बंदरगाह मुफीद थी।
यह जमशेदपुर स्थित टाटा स्टील प्लांट के नजदीक था। हालांकि यह स्टील प्लांट प्रति वर्ष 2.5 लाख नैनो बनाने की क्षमता वाले सिंगुर प्लांट की जरूरत को पूरी नहीं कर पाता परंतु फिर भी प्रमुख स्टील सप्लायर होता।
टाटा मोटर्स कोलकाता के नजदीक प्लांट लगाना चाहता था और इसके अलावा सिंगुर में जमीन बेहद सस्ती मिली।
माना जा रहा है कि पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने टाटा को कई तरह की छूट दी थी, हालांकि इनका खुलासा नहीं हुआ है।

KOLKATA: With Tata Motors announcing pullout plans from Singur because of Mamata Banerjee's agitation that has virtually stalled work at the Nano plant, the Trinamool Congress chief faces the biggest challenge of her political career.
Industrial units shutting down because of political trouble and trade unionism are not new in West Bengal, but the Tata Motors project is different . The state government had been touting the Nano project as the symbol of West Bengal's industrial resurgence. With the name of the Tatas - the oldest and one of the most respected industrial houses in the country - tagged to the project, the Nano plant is vital to the state's brand image.
By taking on the Tatas, Mamata has challenged the might of almost the entire India Inc. There have been protests against her agitation from various corners of the country. The real threat to the state is that the withdrawal of Tatas might trigger a flight of new investments . It will have a serious impact on Bengal's domestic product and employment generation .
Predictably, mass protests against Mamata's agitation like signature campaigns and candlelight marches - have been noticed in urban areas. In case the Tatas really act on their pullout threat, Mamata is likely to face an erosion in her vote-bank in urban areas, which have been Trinamool's traditional areas of strength.
Mamata is aware of this, but the Trinamool-led Krishi Jami Raksha Committee has a different view. "Even after making our opposition to the Nano project clear, Trinamool has done well in the recent municipal elections. It is not correct to say that we might lose urban votes because of this," argues a KJRC leader.
For Mamata, there may be a different reason for plunging headlong into the agitation against forcible land acquisition in Singur, knowing that she runs the risk of being branded "anti-industry" .
The ruling CPM had grown in rural areas and urban voters had traditionally voted against CPM. For the past two and a half decades, Opposition parties have drawn their sustenance from cities and towns. But with CPM changing tactics and projecting itself as a champion of industrialization, there is a danger that it will take the wind out of the sail of the Opposition parties in their bastion.
