गुजरात सरकार मंत्रियो को देगी इनोवा - मार्च 3, 2009

राज्य सरकार के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि मंत्रियों को टोयटा की एसयूवी इनोवा कारें दी जाएंगी। इस समय गुजरात के मंत्रियों के पास शेवरले ऑप्ट्रा कारें हैं।

सूत्रों ने बताया कि पेट्रॉल से चलने वाली इनोवा कारों को सीएनजी से चलने लायक बनाया जा रहा है। 5 साल पहले गुजरात के मंत्रियों को दी गईं ऑप्ट्रा कारों की कीमत 7 लाख रुपये थी। अब उन कारों को बदल दिया जाएगा, जो 2 लाख किलोमीटर से अधिक चल चुकी हैं।

राज्य परिवहन निगम के एक सीनियर अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि इनोवा कारों की कीमत करीब 8 लाख रुपये है। हालांकि, कुछेक विरोधी पार्टियों ने आर्थिक मंदी के समय गुजरात सरकार के इस फैसला की कड़ी आलोचना की है।

However, the government's move has attracted criticism from the opposition parties, which contend that there was no need to indulge in such a extravaganza in time of recession.

"It is very unfortunate that this government is indulging in such extravaganza by giving luxurious cars to the ministers at a time when scores of farmers and diamond workers have committed suicides," said Maha Gujarat Janta Party's president Gordhan Zadafia.

He alleged that the state government is trustee of the state's treasury but this government is behaving like its owner.
