सीबीआई करेगी जांच सत्यम घोटाले की - फरवरी 17, 2009

आंध्र प्रदेश गृह मंत्री के जना रेड्डी ने सोमवार को मीडिया को जानकारी दी कि राज्य सरकार ने इसकी जाँच सीबीआई के हवाले करने संबंधी शासनादेश 13 फरवरी को जारी कर दिया है।

सत्यम के प्रवर्तक बी रामलिंगा राजू के कंपनी के खातों में हेराफेरी और मुनाफ़े को बढ़ा-चढ़ाकर पेश करने की बात स्वीकार करने के क़रीब एक महीने बाद प्रदेश सरकार ने ये फ़ैसला किया। इसके पहले राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री राजशेखर रेड्डी ने प्रधानमंत्री को पत्र लिखकर इसकी सीबीआई जाँच की माँग की थी।इस पर कारपोरेट मामलों के मंत्री प्रेमचंद गुप्ता ने कहा था कि राज्य सरकार को इसके लिए औपचारिक सिफ़ारिश करनी चाहिए।

फिलहाल देश की इस चौथी बड़ी आईटी कंपनी में हुई हेराफेरी की जाँच गंभीर धोखाधड़ी जांच कार्यालय (एसएफआईओ) समेत कई अन्य एजेंसियों कर रही हैं।

इसमें सेबी, रजिस्ट्रार आफ कंपनीज, आंध्र प्रदेश सीआईडी, आयकर विभाग, प्रवर्तन निदेशालय भी शामिल हैं।

इस समय रामलिंगा राजू, उनके भाई रामा राजू और कंपनी के पूर्व मुख्य वित्त अधिकारी वी श्रीनिवास जेल में बंद हैं।

दूसरी ओर केंद्र सरकार ने सत्यम का बोर्ड भंग कर उसकी जगह नया निदेशक मंडल नियुक्त कर दिया था और मामले की जाँच के आदेश दे दिए थे।

English Translation:

The Andhra Pradesh Government has handed over the Rs 7,800 crore Satyam scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Consequent upon these developments, the CID began work on the formalities for handing over the case to the CBI. It has collected nearly 200 trunk loads of documents, besides several computers during the search and seizure operations on the offices and residences of former Satyam chairman B. Ramalinga Raju and other top officials.

Also, Union Corporate Affairs Minister Prem Chand Gupta said that the case would be now jointly probed by the CBI, along with the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and other agencies.

In a new development, the government appointed board has asked US-based senior vice-president Anil Kumar to step down. Kumar was handling Satyam’s banking, finance and insurance vertical and was reporting to erstwhile interim chief executive Ram Mynampati.

Meanwhile, B. Ramalinga Raju, founder and former chairman of the software exporter, denied diverting funds from the firm using bogus companies. His lawyer S. Bharat Kumar issued a statement via email.

नन दुष्कर्म मामले की जांच सीबीआई से नहीं - अक्टूबर 23, 2008

नई दिल्ली. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बुधवार को उड़ीसा सरकार से कहा है कि वह कंधमाल जिले में ईसाई-विरोधी हिंसा में क्षतिग्रस्त चर्चो के पुनर्निर्माण की दिशा में कदम उठाए। हालांकि कोर्ट ने जिले में 25 अगस्त को एक नन के साथ हुए कथित दुष्कर्म के मामले की जांच सीबीआई को सौंपने से इनकार कर दिया।

चीफ जस्टिस केजी बालकृष्णन के नेतृत्व वाली बेंच ने कहा, ‘हम नहीं मानते कि इस वक्त मामले की जांच राज्य पुलिस से लेकर सीबीआई को सौंपना पीड़ित और न्याय के हित में होगा।’

कोर्ट ने कहा कि पीड़ित नन को स्वयं और न्याय के हित में पुलिस के साथ सहयोग करना चाहिए। गौरतलब है कि नन ने पुलिस के साथ सहयोग करने से इनकार कर दिया था। कटक के आर्कबिशप ने अपनी याचिका में दुष्कर्म मामले की जांच सीबीआई को सौंपने की मांग की थी।

उड़ीसा में हिंसा के दौरान चर्चे को पहुंची क्षति के मुआवजे के बारे में बेंच ने उड़ीसा सरकार को नुकसान का आकलन करने और चर्चे के पुनर्निर्माण में मदद देने के लिए कहा। कोर्ट ने कहा कि हिंसा से संबंधित मामलों की सुनवाई फास्ट ट्रैक कोर्टे द्वारा होनी चाहिए। बेंच ने राज्य के हिंसा ग्रस्त इलाकों में तैनात केंद्रीय अर्धसैनिक बलों को दिसंबर के अंत तक वहीं तैनात रखने का भी निर्देश दिया।

नन जांच में करेगी सहयोग : भुवनेश्वर में आर्कबिशप हाउस की ओर से कहा गया कि ईसाई समुदाय शीर्ष कोर्ट के निर्णय को स्वीकार करेगा। फादर जोसेफ कालाथिल ने कहा कि पीड़ित नन उड़ीसा पुलिस की जांच में जरूर सहयोग करेगी।

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to order a CBI probe into the nun's rape case and asked as to why the victim was not participating in the test identification parade of the accused to nail the culprit despite having stated that she can identify the perpetrators.

"If you do not cooperate with the police in investigating the case and finding out the truth, there is little this court can do," the court told Archbishop Raphael Cheenath, who was virtually pleading on her behalf to say the victim had no faith in the state police.

Except for refusing CBI probe into the rape case, the SC gave a slew of directions to the Naveen Patnaik government, all aimed at bringing back normalcy in the riot-hit areas and giving protection to the Christian community, which expressed apprehension of being targeted again during the coming Christmas festivities.

Brushing aside the Centre's reservations, a Bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justices P Sathasivam and J M Panchal ordered all the additional central paramiliatary forces, which were rushed to the state when rioting was at its peak, to remain stationed there till December-end.

It also asked the state government to immediately pay compensation to the victims, give sufficient protection to all relief and rehabilitation workers, including those from Christian NGOs, working to provide succor to victims in relief camps in Kandhmal district and adjoining areas.
