कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने पूछा कि 'राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ के डर के बिना' भाजपा नेता अपने से कोई निर्णय कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि आडवाणी जब भारतीय जनता पार्टी के अध्यक्ष थे तो उन्होंने अपने पाकिस्तान दौरे के दौरान जिन्ना को 'धर्मनिरपेक्षता का प्रमाण पत्र' दे दिया। इस कारण संघ में हंगामा खड़ा हो गया और अंतत: उन्हें अपने पद से त्यागपत्र देना पड़ा था।

They have to decide who is weak, whether it is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or BJP leader L K Advani," Gandhi said.
"Advani must remember that a Prime Minister does not belong to one party but to the whole nation and an insult to him is an insult to the whole country," she said.
Attacking the BJP government in Karnataka for "improper utilisation" of central funds allotted for development work, she said "we gave crores of rupees to Karnataka. We really do not know how the funds have been utilised".
