मामले को तूल पकड़ते देख पद्मश्री लेने नहीं पहुंचने पर हरभजन सिंह ने सफाई दी है। उन्होंने कहा है कि अवॉर्ड लेने नहीं जा पाने का उन्हें दुख है। वह पारिवारिक वजहों से समारोह में शामिल नहीं हो पाए, लेकिन दोबारा ऐसी गलती नहीं होगी।

Dhoni and Bhajji were to be honoured with the Padma Shree by President Pratibha Patil.TV sources said that both the cricketers were busy shooting for an ad film due to which they failed to turn up for the event. They also missed the previous ceremony due to their tour of New Zealand.
"Mistake"When asked about the same, Bhajji reportedly commented that he was busy with "some household work" and skipper Dhoni was not available for the comment.
