पार्टी प्रवक्ता बलबीर पुंज ने कहा, 'हम घटना की कड़ी निंदा करते हैं।' पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी की हत्या के बाद 1984 में हुए सिख विरोधी दंगों के संदर्भ में कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता जगदीश टाइटलर को सीबीआई द्वारा क्लीन चिट दिए जाने के विरोध में दैनिक जागरण के संवाददाता जरनैल सिंह ने कांग्रेस मुख्यालय में आयोजित प्रेस वार्ता में चिदंबरम पर आज जूता फेंका। चिदंबरम के चौकन्ना रहने से जूता उन्हें लगा नहीं।

Jarnail Singh of a Hindi daily hurled a shoe at Union Home Minister Chidambaram protesting against the CBI's clean chit to senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.The saffron party suggested to its rival Congress to reconsider the candidature of anti-Sikh riot accused Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler, who are contesting the Lok Sabha elections on Congress tickets from South Delhi and North East respectively.
