केंद्रीय सतर्कता आयोग ने एयरटेल की ओर से लंबी दूरी की कॉल दर में हेरफेर करके केंद्र सरकार को करीब 100 करोड़ रुपये का चूना लगाए जाने के मामले में दूरसंचार विभाग के अधिकारियों की संभावित मिलीभगत की जांच के आदेश दिए हैं।
उनका आरोप है कि पूरे प्रकरण पर दूरसंचार विभाग और भारतीय दूरसंचार नियामक प्राधिकरण, ट्राई ने अपनी आंखें बंद रखी हैं। ऐसे में उन्होंने आयोग से इस पूरे मामले की जांच की मांग की है। गौरतलब है कि ट्राई ने पिछले साल भारती एयरटेल की लंबी दूरी के राजस्व खाते में जबरदस्त तेजी का उल्लेख किया था।
आयोग ने यह आदेश सांसद अजय चक्रवर्ती की शिकायत पर जारी किया है।
उनका आरोप है कि पूरे प्रकरण पर दूरसंचार विभाग और भारतीय दूरसंचार नियामक प्राधिकरण, ट्राई ने अपनी आंखें बंद रखी हैं। ऐसे में उन्होंने आयोग से इस पूरे मामले की जांच की मांग की है। गौरतलब है कि ट्राई ने पिछले साल भारती एयरटेल की लंबी दूरी के राजस्व खाते में जबरदस्त तेजी का उल्लेख किया था।दूरसंचार विभाग ने हालांकि इस मामले में पहले ही भारती एयरटेल के खातों की विशेष ऑडिटिंग के आदेश दे रखे हैं।भारती एयरटेल ने इस मामले पर कोई भी प्रतिक्रिया देने से मना कर दिया।

Bharti Airtel’s revenue reporting on its national long distance licence has now come under the scanner of the Central Vigilance Commission. who alleged that the Government may have lost over Rs 100 crore a year from “anti competitive practice of Bharti in long distance carriage.”
The CVC has asked the Department of Telecom to investigate whether the company had violated norms by showing higher revenues under its long distance licence in a bid to pay lower revenue share to the Government and whether any DoT or TRAI officials were conniving with the company.
The CVC’s move follows a complaint by a Member of Parliament, Mr Ajay Chakraborty.
Bharti spokesperson said “as a responsible corporate, following the highest standards of corporate governance, Bharti Airtel strictly adheres to the regulatory requirements and processes. We have already provided the relevant information regarding the matter to both TRAI and DoT and will be happy to provide further details in case the same is required. Our carriage charges for the NLD business are well within the ceiling provided by the authority and are as per market practice & non-discriminatory.”
